Calibogus

Calibogus - Cocktails, or spirit recipe made with improvisation and imagination came mostly from the New World. This drinks’ origins can be traced back to the early 1700’s. The Original recipe was with just Rum and Spruce Beer. What is Spruce beer? Why, it’s beer with essence of spruce! (it’s an Old World thing). This take is from the folks at Smuggler’s Cove in San Francisco. We use some seltzer water, Molasses syrup, and Spruce beer extract (yes, beer lovers…it’s a thing!), and a unique spirit from Austria; Zirbenz the Stone Pine Liqueur of the Alps. Add some amazing rum from our friends at Plantation (this time Original Dark). A Truly unique cocktail experience! Enjoy!

Add 3 oz of Seltzer in your favorite Collins glass. Add cracked ice to the top.

In a shaker of cracked ice add:

  • .25 oz Fresh Lime Juice

  • .75 oz Molasses Syrup

  • 1 drop of Homebrew Spruce Beer Extract

  • .75 oz Zirbenz Stone Pine Liqueur of the Alps

  • 1.25 oz Plantation Original Dark Rum

Shake and strain into your cocktail glass. Garnish with a swizzle stick. Enjoy!
