Queen’s Park Swizzle

Queen’s Park Swizzle - This drink is named after the beautiful park in the center of Trinidad’s Capital city, Port of Spain. It is the perfect drink for the first day spring! Trinidad has a rich history (not all pretty), it is the larger and more populous of the two major islands of Trinidad and Tobago. The island lies off the northeastern coast of Venezuela and sits on the continental shelf of South America. When you think of Trinidad, Steel Drums and Calypso music and Harry Belafonte come to mind.

Trader Vic’s came up with the first version of this traditional Trinidadian recipe, and Smuggler’s Cove came up with this adaption. I think you will love it!

Gently muddle the mint leaves and lime juice and demerara syrup in your coolest collins glass, add the rum and bitters. Fill crushed ice 3/4 full, then use a Lélé to swizzle. Top with more crushed ice. Garnish with Mint Spring and wrap in a Swizzle Napkin. Enjoy!
