Royal Bermuda Yacht Club

Royal Bermuda Yacht Club - This recipe for a unique take on a Daiquiri comes from @Shannonmustipher ‘s Tiki - Modern Tropical Cocktails book. This drink goes back to at least the 1920’s ( the Yacht Club dates back to 1844) . A long time standard in the Roaring 20’s and 30’s , this drink brings less sweetness than a regular Daiquiri as there is no simple syrup. There is enough added sugar in the two complimentary spirits (Velvet Falernum and the Ferrand Dry Curacao ) to properly offset and compliment the fresh lime juice. This one makes you think of ocean breezes! The rum select for this is an exemplary choice of the bootleg years; The Real McCoy 12 Year old 100 Anniversary Prohibition Tradition Edition Rum from Barbados. Enjoy!

In a shaker of cracked ice add:

  • 2 oz The Real McCoy 12 Year Old Rum

  • .75 oz Ferrand Dry Curacao

  • .75 oz Velvet Falernum

  • .75 oz Fresh Lime Juice

Shake well and double strain into your favorite fancy coupe. Enjoy!
